NZMPTM is delighted to announce our success at the 2023 International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA) held in the UK.
A whopping 36 of our entries were accepted into the ICDA, which is the world’s biggest platform to champion world-class producers of cheese and dairy products. Placing in these prestigious awards has put NZMP and New Zealand on the world stage yet again.
NZMP has been awarded an incredible 13 medals; 6 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze, alongside a prestigious trophy for our NZMP Vintage Cheddar known as The Reefer 90s Award for the Best New Zealand Cheese.
NZMP continues to impress in all kinds of incredible ways. Our award-winning cheese and dairy ingredients have captivated audiences worldwide, inspiring our customers to create delicious products their consumers love. As well as having the best overall organic cheddar cheese, we’re celebrating a 3rd consecutive win for the best cheese on toast and a number of other cheddar cheeses celebrated for being best in New Zealand class.

The ICDA attracts over 5,500 entries every year. NZMP was proud to have 36 cheeses and dairy products included in these prestigious awards.
A heritage rich in cheese and dairy
For NZMP, we are celebrating our heritage and global leadership in cheesemaking with more than 100 years of experience. Our cheese and dairy products all have unique characteristics. We have a broad range to fit any application and suit a variety of tastes. Fonterra has its own cheese culture house with high-quality cultures. These unique cultures are used in all NZMP cheese made in New Zealand and our performance system underpins our consistently exceptional quality.
NZMP performed better than previous years and had some excellent Cheddar results. It reminds me that every cheesemaker, even when following a similar recipe, has their own techniques and every cheese is a reflection of these as well as the milk, the animals, and the land.

The Reefer 90s Award for the Best New Zealand Cheese
This vintage cheddar cheese has well-rounded flavours, with a balance of acid and savoury notes, and a hint of sweetness. The texture of this cheese is slightly crumbly yet still smooth enough to cut and shred.
