Year after year, our cheese and dairy products continue to delight judges across the world winning prestigious awards both nationally and internationally. Our latest successes at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA) 2024 in England, show just how well our dairy products stack up against the rest of the world.

NZMP™ had an incredible 22 entries accepted into the ICDA, reflecting the high calibre of our dairy products. ICDA is the world’s biggest platform to champion world-class cheese and dairy products. Gaining medal placements at these acclaimed awards is a true testament to the quality and craftmanship of NZMP’s dairy foods category.

Included in this impressive haul were a number of NZMP ingredients that deserve a special mention; NZMP’s pastry butter, cheddar cheese, and organic cheese and butter.

With baked goods continuing to grow on a global scale1, our pastry butter is gaining popularity. Unlike lower quality butter sheets that fracture easily, NZMP’s pastry butter is expertly made with excellent plasticity.

NZMP has a long history of producing quality aged Cheddars and the many awards we win for Cheddar are proof of our quality cultures and expertise in this space. Every single batch of NZMP Cheddar is made with quality and care.

Our organic cheese and butter wins show how well this premium product is doing, mainly in the US, Korean and UK markets. Recognised as top of class, we expect to see these products increase in popularity.

New Zealand dairy trade to the UK has a special history, being our largest market until the 1970s, and supplying the UK’s favourite butter for over a century. Following the NZ-UK Free Trade Agreement entering into force last May, we have rebuilt historic relationships and developed new routes to market. “The great news for Fonterra, is that British buyers and consumers are loving having New Zealand dairy available again, with over 10,000mt of product contracted in the first financial year post FTA” says Alexander Hume.
