NZMP is celebrating our Cheddar and Cream Cheeses being selected as finalists at the NZ Champions of Cheese Awards on 4 May 2023, with our NZMP Brine Salt Gouda taking home the win for Champion Dutch Style Cheese.
Five of our world-class cheeses were awarded gold at the NZ Champion of Cheese Awards earlier this year, which automatically placed them in the running for the best of the best.
For NZMP, these outstanding achievements are a true validation of our rich dairy heritage and leadership in cheesemaking. Our cheeses are renowned for their unique characteristics fit for any application and a variety of tastes. Our unique culture performance system underpins our consistently exceptional quality.

One of our own, Craig Honore, Cheese Technical Expert, has been judging the NZ Cheese Awards for 17 years now and says, “it has been wonderful to see the calibre of entries grow over the years. On the whole entrants this year put great effort into making sure their cheeses not only tasted great, but also looked great too".
NZMP Special Reserve Cheddar
Our Special Reserve depicts elite and well-rounded flavours associated with a vintage Cheddar. With a balance of acid and savoury notes and a hint of sweetness, the texture of this cheese is slightly crumbly yet still smooth enough to cut and shred.

This is a rich, creamy, higher fat content ‘double cream’ cream cheese. NZMP High Solids Cream Cheese provides formulation flexibility for industrial applications, with the ability to add additional water phases to the recipe. It has a deliciously rich, mild, cultured flavour.
