NZMP Organic Unsalted Butter with carbonzero™ certification was announced as a finalist in the Best Sustainability/CSR Initiative category for the 2021 World Dairy Innovation Awards.
The World Dairy Innovation Awards are an annual celebration of innovation and excellence across every category of the international dairy industry. With 20 categories ranging from Packaging Design to Dairy Dessert, the Best Sustainability/CSR Initiative category recognises key actions from dairy industry players that have had a positive environmental or social impact.
For NZMP Organic Unsalted Butter to become carbonzero™ certified, Toitu Envirocare measured the impact of producing the NZMP Organic Unsalted Butter, all the way from farm and manufacturing, through to distribution and even the disposal of packaging by customers. Understanding our footprint means we can offset our impact with high quality carbon credits from projects, including native forest regeneration in New Zealand and Gold Standard renewable energy projects.
“This year’s contenders are some of our strongest yet”, says Lily Benham, FoodBev Media awards marketing executive.
Despite all of the challenges the global dairy industry has faced over the past year, we are overwhelmed by a record number of exciting, innovative entries in this year’s World Dairy Innovation Awards.
